Youth and Adult Sessions on Spirituality and Development (Sabha)

Anoopam Mission Canada leads weekly youth and adults sessions, known as “sabhas”, to teach Hindu philosophy, particularly centered around the Swaminarayan faith. These sessions focus on the principle beliefs and teachings of our Guru and Inspirer, Sant Bhagwant Sahebji. Discourses on topics such as ethics, charity, and devotional endeavours help individuals integrate this understanding into their daily lives and to develop a refined mindset in order to achieve an internal state of complete joy and peace. These sessions explain and promote the Hindu ideals of non-violence, harmony, peaceful co-existence, and dedication to one’s cause.

Discussions on spiritual development and growth are at the heart of these sessions, where youth and adults share their personal experiences on their distinct path to spirituality. Guidance is also provided on addressing challenging life situations using the ideals of the Swaminarayan philosophy and on how to serve the community. Scriptures, beliefs, and important historical events are also explained and discussed to give context on understanding the Swaminarayan philosophy and lineages. These sessions are an opportunity for youth and adults to also connect with each other, discuss challenges and obstacles they face in their daily lives and seek advice on spiritual advancement. Interactive activities are also incorporated into these sessions, such as Kahoot and Jeopardy, to reflect on certain topics.

Meditation Sessions (Dhoon)

Anoopam Mission Canada actively organizes daily 30-minute morning and evening mediation sessions, known as Dhun. These sessions guide attendees through meditation techniques and practices for developing a clear, focused, and positive mindset. Meditation has many proven benefits such as reducing stress, increasing self-awareness, and eliminating negative thoughts. By providing an organized and regular outlet for meditation, Anoopam Mission Canada’s daily Dhun sessions help to guide individuals towards spiritual enlightenment.

Anoopam Mission Canada organizes a biweekly bhajan sandhya where families and friends gather to sing and pray.
